CESAR SOLIS
ASSISTANT CHIEF OF POLICE
While assigned to community relations, he developed trust and strong working relationships with community leaders, religious leaders and community based organizations.
In 1986, Assistant Chief Solis was awarded the Police Department’s Meritorious Service Award and American Legion Medal of Valor for dedication to duty and personal valor while serving on the Border Crime Prevention Unit.
Assistant Chief Solis and his wife Doris live in Bonita. They have two children, Kristen and Eric. They enjoy traveling, snow skiing and youth athletics.
Assistant Chief of Police Cesar A. Solis served the San Diego Police Department from 1982 until February 28, 2014.
He was promoted to Assistant Chief on August 23, 2008. Prior to his promotion he served as the captain of Investigations II.
His past assignments include Patrol Operations, Investigations and Community Relations.
Assistant Chief Solis also served as the Commanding Officer of S.W.A.T. and Executive Officer of the Emergency Negotiatios Team.
As the head of Centralized Investigations, Assistant Chief Solis is in charge of several investigative units that include Homicide, Gangs, Robbery, Sex Crimes, Child Abuse, Narcotics, Economic Crimes, Vice, Domestic Violence, M.A.S.T. and Auto Theft.
Assistant Chief Solis actively participated and served on numerous community advisory boards and associations.
