Daily, members of the SDPD are called upon to face danger and other 

life threatening emergencies. 

There have been spectacular successes as well as tragic outcomes - the latter occurring 

when best efforts, training and medical aid simply couldn't overcome the original issue.

Most successes go unrecognized as routine or, "just doing the job." 

Those whose lives were saved would vehemently disagree.
