Edward E. "Kirk" Abbey, age 82, passed away on October 27, 2001. 

He was appointed as an Administrative Aide on July 1, 1982.

Mr. Abbey was assigned to Crime Analysis, Data Systems and Traffic Division during his seventeen years with the San Diego Police Department. 

He retired from the Department on March 23, 1999. 

His wife, Yoko F. Abbey, and a son, Michael Abbey of Los Osos, survive him.

Private services were held.  Inurnment:  Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma.
