Harvey Wm Searl, 72, passed away quickly and peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2009, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor on April 17, 2009.

Harvey, a San Diego native, was born at Quintard Hospital on April 12, 1937, to Harvey and Mary Searl.

He was a Saint Augustine High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Harvey worked for what was then known as Ma Bell for 28 years, starting as a lineman and finally retiring in management. He attained the rank of Lieutenant with the San Diego Police Reserves.

Thursday evenings he could be found at the zoo parking lot, training Ginger, his four legged companion. He will be remembered for his quick wit, edgy sense of humor, and enthusiasm, especially when it came to dog training.

He is predeceased by his father, and survived by his loving wife and buddy of 48 years, Barbara (Bobbi) Searl, daughter Debbi Dickerson and husband Matt, son Douglas, mother Mary, and sisters Mimi and Ruth Searl. He will be missed.
