Services for retired Marine Corps Master Sgt. Jack Rearick, 68, of University Heights, was held at Goodbody Mortuary.

Burial was in Riverside National Cemetery. He died in a hospital.

Mr. Rearick was a native of Indiana, lived in the county 30 years and retired in 1983 from Rohr Industries after 20 years.

He served in the Marines for 20 years, retiring in 1957, was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War and had been a boxing coach at Camp Pendleton.

He was a member of the San Diego and Chula Vista police reserves.

Survivors include his wife, Maria; and two brothers, Dick and Jim, and three sisters, Joanna Faulkner, Sharon Thomas and Marie Hobby, all of Los Angeles.
