James Arnold Jim' Carver
Our Lord took Jim home on July 31, 2016 after an aggressive year-long battle with vascular dementia.
Jim was born in Los Angeles, and moved to Phoenix with his mother and older sister, where another sister joined the family.
After high school graduation, Jim served four years in the US Army Air Corps.
After leaving the service, Jim joined the Phoenix Police Department, married, and became father to three children.
They relocated to San Diego, where Jim joined the San Diego Police Department and added another son to his family. He loved to work with his children in sports and coached many of their teams over the years. Jim served on the San Diego police force for seventeen years before retiring due to injuries sustained in the line-of-duty.
Jim met his wife Marilyn at a support group for the widowed, separated and divorced at a local Catholic Church. It was love at first sight, and they married in March, 1987. They became very active in the Catholic Church working as Eucharistic ministers and bringing communion to residents of local care facilities. Jim studied the Bible in depth and taught Bible classes for a number of years.
Jim is survived by wife Marilyn, sisters Virginia and Vickie, daughter Laura, sons Scott, Todd and John, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well.
