DEPUTY CITY MARSHAL JESSE B. COOK
BADGE 12
1860 - 05/31/1938
SDCMO 1887 - 1889
Deputy City Marshal Jesse Cook only served in San Diego for two years but his contributions to law enforcement will last a lifetime.  Cook joined the San Francisco Police Department in 1889 and was on hand in 1906 when the great earthquake leveled the city.  With his camera in hand, Cook documented a great deal of the damage.  Today, his photographic collection is considered one of the most important collections in the State of California Library System.
