Joseph Thomas Swanner III, 65, of Sheffield, Ala., walked from this life into the arms of Jesus on Aug. 10, 2004.

Mr. Swanner was a native of San Diego, Calif.

He was a veteran and owner of Mr. Fix It Repair Service, of Sheffield.

He was a counselor and Bible teacher and was very involved in helping people repair their belongings while witnessing for Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Swanner, of Sheffield; his sons, Joseph Thomas Swanner IV and wife, Angel, of West Virginia, David Swanner, of Washington; daughters, Charlene Yurman, of Alaska, Cheryl Ferro and husband, Jason, of Oregon; sister, Judy Fortune, of California; and 10 grandchildren.
