THE THIN BLUE LINE
Judith (Judy) Ellen Anderson was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She left this world on February 12th, 2022, at the age of 83, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 4th, 1939, to Elizabeth (Betty) and Norbert (Norm) Jansen in Detroit, Michigan.  Her life journey found her living in many places including San Bernadino as a young teen and then onto San Diego where she graduated from Mission Bay High School.  After high school she married and had three children, Julie, Jeffrey, and Janelle.

Her career as a police radio dispatcher for the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) spanned 25 years.  She embraced her job with professionalism and a sense of duty.  Her police department co-workers quickly became her second family and even though retired for 25 years, many of those co-workers were still close friends today.

After retirement her life moved on from the SDPD as she experienced living in Arizona, Washington and Oregon before San Diego began calling her “home” once again.  After moving back to San Diego in 2012 her life became full and rich with many new friends, activities, and interests.  These included her card playing friends, dog park friends, friends in her “hood” and many beloved life-long friends.  She also had many cherished friends she met as a member of Maranatha Chapel and through her Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).

Her ultimate favorite times over the past decade were the many special family trips and cruises with her kids, their spouses, and her grandkids.  These adventures took her to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico, and the east coast and encompassed many hours spent sharing, laughing, and exploring as a family.

Judy was a kind, thoughtful, generous, and humorous person.  She was loved by so many who will deeply miss her everyday friendship and love.

Judy is survived by her children: Julie Shoemaker (Steve), Jeff Davidson (Liza) and Janelle Grim (Rob), sister Linda Tijerina (John), grandchildren: Joshua, Justin, Acacia, Christine and Caroline, and great-grandson River and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Sandra.
