CAPTAIN LAURA J. McLEAN

SERVING SINCE 1994

Captain Laura McLean attended high school in Sacramento before relocating to attend college at San Diego State University (SDSU) where she majored in Criminology and Criminal Justice. After graduation Laura was hired with SDPD in June of 1994.

At various ranks during her SDPD career Captain McLean has been assigned to Southern Division, Central Division, Southeastern Division, Mid City, Research Analysis and Planning Unit and Field Lieutenant. As a captain she has been the commanding officer of Western Division, the police academy and logistics.

Outside of work, Captain Mclean thrives on spending time with family and friends and rescuing English Bulldogs. Captain Mclean views a positive future and hopes to keep gravitating toward a strong female influence in a male-dominated profession.
