Sergeant Rex Cole joined the San Diego Police Department in 2003.

Throughout his diverse career he worked patrol in Southern, Eastern, Central, Northern and Southeastern. He also worked in the Juvenile Services Team, Crime Suppression Team, Neighborhood Resource Team, Homeless Outreach Team, Neighborhood Policing, Traffic Special Events, and Administration RIU (his final command).

Rex is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lynne, and their two children Breanna and Branden.
