"Dick" Tulley passed away on February 16, 2020, less than a month short of his 90th birthday.

Born on Ft. Sill, OK, he was an Army brat, living in the Philippines, Ft. Missoula, MT, Santa Cruz, CA, and finally Coronado where he attended high school from 1946-48.

Volunteering for the U.S. Army as the Korean War started, he served on the front lines for 12 months, served for a total of 4 years, and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant before leaving the Army.

He served on the SDPD for 20 years before a pair of bad knees and a hand injury forced him into early retirement. He always had colorful stories about his time as a police officer, enjoyed every day of his job, and continued strong friendships with many of his former coworkers.

He is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Pamela and Erin, son Sean, and step-children Kimberly and Mitch Hudgins.
