Robert M. Murphy, 88, of Chula Vista died Wednesday. He was born in Pennsylvania and was a police officer for the city of San Diego. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Murphy; and son, Robert Murphy.
