Robert A. Whipple, 83, of El Cajon died Friday.
He was born in Massachusetts. Mr. Whipple worked as an animal registration officer for the city of San Diego.
He served in the Coast Guard from 1943 to 1947.
Survivors include his sister, Norma Stowe; and brother, George Whipple, both of Buzzards Bay, Mass.
