EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT CHIEF OF POLICE
PHILLIP T. "TODD" JARVIS
Assistant Chief of Police Jarvis is a 2nd generation San Diego Police Officer and a third generation police officer in San Diego County. He joined the San Diego Police Department on April 27, 1984. His father, Phil Jarvis, served the San Diego Police Department from May 1, 1958, until November 24, 1991, when he retired as a Captain.
During his career Assistant Chief Jarvis worked Patrol, Traffic, The Motor Unit, Field Lieutenant, administration and numerous investigative units.
Chief Jarvis was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police in March, 2014. In that role he oversaw the backbone of the police department’s obligations, patrol operations. On October 12, 2016, Chief Jarvis was promoted to Executive Assistant Chief of Police, the SDPD's second highest office, to replace the outgoing incumbent, David Ramirez.
In his spare time, Assistant Chief Jarvis enjoys riding his Harley, Outdoor activities and spending time with his family.
